Upon being called to the Mauritian Bar in September 2020, Imaan joined the Chambers of Sir Hamid Moollan KC.
Imaan read a dual French and English law degree at the University of Exeter and holds a Master 1 in European Law from the Université de Rennes and L’École Normale Supérieure de Rennes. Thereafter, she undertook the Bar Professional Training Course at City, University of London. She was admitted to the English Bar in 2019 by Gray’s Inn.
She has appeared before all the Mauritian courts including as junior counsel before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, as well as some tribunals. She has wide practice in both civil and criminal cases and retains a keen interest to anything related to family law, especially private children law.
In 2022, Imaan came top of the batch of the Diplome Universitaire organised by the Université de la Réunion, with a dissertation on “L’Application de la Convention de la Haye sur les aspects civils de l’enlèvement international d’enfants 1980, une analyse du point de vue du praticien mauricien”.
Imaan teaches part-time at the Mauritian branch of the Université Panthéon-Assas for the module of Law of Contract.
Imaan is a door tenant at the Chambers of Narghis Bundhun SC.
