Zaki was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018 and to the Mauritian Bar in 2019, he then joined the Chambers of Narghis Bundhun SC later that year after completing part of his pupillage with the set. He graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an LLB and obtained an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University, London. Zaki completed his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at BPP Law School London before successfully obtaining a Diplôme Universitaire en Droit Mauricien in 2022 from the Université de la Réunion. Since joining the chambers, Zaki has kept a broad private practice covering several areas of the law including criminal, corporate, and family law.
Zaki is an accredited mediator by ADR-ODR International, and a Prosecuting Counsel attached to the District Court of the Lower Plaines Wilhems.
He is also the vice-chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee of the National Land Transport Authority which entails dealing with offences committed by licensees most notably public transport service providers of the National Land Transport Authority. In addition, Zaki was appointed in 2023 as the counsel of the District Council of Black River tendering advice and appearing in Court in relation to building and planning, environmental and any other civil issues that may arise in relation to the said District Council.
